The name KANACODE is the interaction, of two principles, that gives birth to things and allows energy to emerge for an authentic experience. 「KANA」, as a rationale principle, comes from the kanji 叶 meaning "come true" and represents the freedom from complexity. It is the 'logic of the situation'. 「CODE」, as a radical principle, refers to the intangible sensitive cultural aspects, hard to penetrate. Is the complex state of feelings, the pride and the silent emotional chaos of an artisan's introverted profound relationship with traditional craftsmanship.

WHY MADE IN JAPAN
What makes Japan so successful, is its extreme focus on detail and quality. Our family factories, yarn companies and artisanal studios, in Kansai area and around Tokyo, are very process oriented and aim to perfect every step of it. The raw material, the traditional "kase dyeing" process and knitted techniques we use, have been tested over time by skilled craftsmen working on the same rare, traditional knitting machines and artisanal studios, which for many generations have been nurturing traditions while also had the honor and privilege of serving the Imperial House and Japanese nobles, for centuries.
